There's just one problem: he has no idea who she is. ---------------------------- New Manga from Kawashita Mizuki Regular readers of Weekly Shônen Jump are aware that romantic comedies are relatively rare offerings in this magazine. So it is worth mentioning that a new manga series by Kawashita Mizuki (author of "Lilim Kiss") appearing the issue 12 titled "Ichigo 100%". The story revolves around a young man, Manaka, who became infatuated with a girl he met briefly on the roof. Through a series of coincidences and misunderstandings, he ends up "confessing his love" to the freshman idol Nishino Tsukasa! And surprise... she isn't repulsed by him... in fact, she is also attracted to him because she overheard him one day defending a nerdy girl named Tojô. Tojô, naturally, is really the girl Manaka met on the roof, but he is totally unaware of it because she is usually in pigtails and glasses. For some reason, she had her hair flowing freely and her glasses off that day on the roof. She and Manaka become good friends when he happened to read some of Tojô's amateur writing. He is compliments her profusely and insists that she consider turning professional someday. Admittedly not the most original of stories... just a simple love triangle, a dime-a-dozen in manga. But the story is sweet and Kawashita's artwork is nice, so it is worth a look.
