Without you

With eyes wide open, Ace lay on his comfortable bed in his room, feeling not
comfortable at all, stunned from the thoughts he had. There was so much blood,
so many friends that died only because of him. Who was he that all these people
sacrified their lifes for him, to free him, save him. Yes, he was the second
squad leader of a Yonkou, of the strongest man in the world called Shirohige.
But hell, he was the one who caused all this, who made a terrible mistake and
yet, everyone keps telling him that it wasn’t his fault. How could he believe
that? He knew very well, if he just hadn’t gone to hunt Blackbeard or at
least, if he had died while fighting that bastard, this whole war wouldn’t
have started. So, you can easily say it was his fault, no matter what other’s
say. Only he was to blame that - “Hey, what’s up? Ya know, you shouldn’t
think about what happened, you couldn’t have changed it a bit, no matter how
much you wanted it.” Marco said with a calm voice, seeing sadly how his
friends condition was getting worse, and came, closing the door behind him,
slowly to the bed. Sitting down next to the fire-user, he gently stroke his
hair, trying to calm him down. “Don’t blame yourself, that would only
destroy you.” Slowly sitting up next to the blonde, Ace looked at him, eyes
full of grief and sadness. “But if I would have just take your warnings and
– “ “Ssssch”, the older one whispered quietly, touching with his right
hand his friends cheeks, stroking/caressing them. “As I said before, as we all
did, it’s not your fault. We decided to come for you, ‘cause you’re one of
us, a part of our family. And no matter how stupid you are sometimes, that
won’t change a bit. We will always come for you, same goes for eyerone else of
our family. So please stop blaming yourself.” He said that with such intensity
that Ace could do nothing but stare at him and even as finally a few tears
escaped his eyes, he seemed not to notice. But his friend did, smiling sadly as
he whipped them away. “There’s nothing to worry about right now any more, ya
know. You’ll see, eyerthing’s gonna be ok, just try. We miss you all, you
know, the day you entered this ship, you entered our hearts as well. What would
we do without you? What would I do?” The last sentence of his little speech
was just a light whisper you could barely hear and maybe he (even) hoped that it
wasn’t heard, that he hadn’t said that loudly. Well maybe, he thought, but
as he looked Ace in the eyes, he knew it was right. These beautiful eyes the
phoenix could drown in everytime he looked at them. 
And eventually, two hearts that beat in the same rhythm found each other, ready
to take the chance, the chance to start a new part of their life, together.
